Hadley

Miss Hadley was born on Friday, June 24th at 1:52 am. Pretty much everything that we didn't want to have happen, happened but it actually turned out better in the end. I'll post pictures and share the whole story soon. We are doing amazing, tanner is home for a few weeks and is the best help. We are learning as we go a bit but loving it. Family and friends have been so great and helpful. We are so lucky. Loves to all.

Baby

Tanner brought his "Baby" home yesterday.

I don't see the appeal but he LOVES it so I'm happy for him. The good news is after four years I finally have my own car. Yeah! No more sitting at home all day :)

In other Baby News. We're three days past our due date and still waiting for miss Hadley to make her debut. I feel really good, not miserable yet. I have the same pain (heartburn, back pain, pressure) I've had for months so I'm used to it. Ready for it to end but used to it.

We're so excited for her to get here. We've tried convincing her to come out but so far it hasn't helped. She moves a bunch still, she's probably just in there playing. Living it up.

We won't be inducing unless they can prove there's a medical reason, so we may be waiting for a while. She'll come when she's ready so I'm not too worried. However I swear if I get any stretch marks and then she comes like the next day...... I'm not going to be very happy. I'll post as soon as she decides to grace us with her presence.

Hope everyone is well! Happy Father's Day to all those dads out there. Loves to all.

TA-DA!!!!

Our parents always told us that "two wrongs don't make a right" and Cher's dad from Clueless taught us "two permits do not equal a licence" Well my friends today I am here to tell you that "two nightstands CAN make a dresser". And a fabulous one at that. A few weeks ago Janae and I set off on a Friday morning to look for Garage Sales. We pulled up to a house and I saw two brown night stands. They said $5 each. I sat and thought for a minute. I turned to Janae and said "do you think I could put one on top of the other and make it a dresser? I mean for $10 it's worth a try right?" She agreed with me. Then the salesman/owner walked over and said "you can have them both for $5." SOLD!! Yeah for me. :) Well they've been sitting in our garage since then and today I decided it was time to paint them. That way I could put them in Hadley's room or give them to Goodwill if it didn't work. This is a picture of one of the night stands. I had already started painting the other when I realized I hadn't taken a before pic. And this is how they look now. I still have to have my dad attach them in the back. They turned out soooo good. I'm so excited. Her room is FINALLY coming together. It's precious. I can't wait till it's done, I already love walking in there and just sitting. :) Hope to post the finished product soon. Loves to all!

Moving Right Along

This is mine and Hadley's new car! KIA Sorento. Love it! Well I hit 30 weeks on Wednesday so I have 10 to go. I'm really hoping she comes pretty close to the 15th. I want her to stay in as long as she can but I'm so excited to have her, I hope she's not late. :) Me and my wishful thinking right? Time is flying by, I can't believe we're almost done. Her room is almost finished, we just have to touch up a few spots on the walls and then we can move her furniture in. It will be nice to get everything out of my front room. She moves all the time. One night we had the "Hadley Olympics" it felt like she was doing front hand springs and back flips for hours. I love it though, it makes me laugh. The big news is we bought a car for Hadley and me. As seen in the above picture. For those of you that don't know, Tanner and I have had one car since we got married. He drops me off on his way to work and picks me up afterwards. The good news is I got my car, however we traded in our Sentra so we're still sharing until we buy a new one for Tanner. Two of my school parents that live in Queen Creek offered to pick me up on their way to school every morning. I said YES. Now I wake up at 6:30 instead of 3:30. That extra sleep is fantastic, especially since I'm not sleeping all that great these days. I miss going with Tanner though, it's nice to start off our day together. We get alot of talking/planning done. The other day he said "it's kind of sad not driving together anymore. I already miss you." We've been carpool buddies for 3 years :) We still drive home together so that's nice. I also miss waking up (again) with my mom. After Tanner drops me off I crawl into bed with her. My dad is just getting up so I just slide into his spot. :) But I guess since I'm pretty much 30 and having a baby it's time to stop sleeping with my mom. Hahaha.

I'm really loving being pregnant, I'm starting to get uncomfortable so we'll see how the next 10 weeks go. My heartburn has kicked in hardcore but tums takes care of it for now. That's pretty much my only complaint.

I'll post pics of her room soon. And I've been meaning to take a couple of pictures of me, so I'll post those too. Loves to all!

Red vs Red

I realize this is a lame reason to blog..... but someone out there has to agree with me on this.

I love award season. LOVE. I only watch the red carpet arrivals, then fast forward through most of the actual show. I was super impressed with the Oscars this year, so many people looked amazing. Oh and can I just comment on how much I LOVE Collin Firth. I'm so glad he won best actor. Congrats Collin dear. Anywho. Now the point of my post. Above are two pictures. Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett Johansson. Jennifer was a nominee for best actress in "Winter's Bone". Yes, she is beautiful. She walked on the red carpet and everyone went crazy. "Flawless" "Effortless" "Amazing" etc. Ya ya ya. HELLLLOOO people!!!! How has nobody that night or since acknowledged the fact that she pretty much looks exactly like Scarlett Johanssen at the Golden Globes a few years ago??? To quote my friend Jenn "oh the dress that looks like a red swimsuit." Yes that dress. This probably shouldn't bug me so much, but I have yet to hear anyone mention it. Yes there are a couple differences but come on! They look identical. She should have been on 'Who Wore It Best" or "Bitch Stole My Look". But instead she was a "Best Dressed Nominee". She does look amazing.... I just think that she could have been a little more.... just a little more. It's too simple for an Oscar nominee. Granted I sort of overdue it on the bling in my life, hahahaha. I would have liked it more if I felt like I hadn't seen it already. you know? OK tell me what you think, even if you don't agree with me. Loves to all!

What's New. What's New. (and getting fatter)

Everything is going really well. We saw the Dr. today and everything looks perfect. I was stressing because I knew the scale was going to shift this month. My appetite has doubled..... ok tripled. I swear all I do is eat. I'm fine gaining weight, obviously it's going to happen. But me pigging out isn't the way I want to do it. Every time I look in the mirror (naked) I literally gasp. It's like I forget how much my body is changing. Tanner keeps telling my how beautiful I am and that I need to just enjoy the experience. So sweet but I want to throw a shoe at his head. I am very happy to announce that today at 21 weeks I've gained a total of 5 pounds. All gained this month...... but 5 all the same. I thought it would be at least 10 maybe 15.

Hadley is wonderful. It's amazing how much I already love her. I talk to her all the time. I'm trying to convince her it would be really special if she would come out weighing the same as me 6.11 and NOT anywhere close to her father..... 10.4. She started moving a couple weeks ago, I'm loving it. LOVING it. I did realize however that she already favors Tanner. She goes crazy whenever he's around. If she can hear his voice she wiggles and moves and kicks. I'll go the entire day and maybe feel her move twice. But as soon as we're together and he's talking...... she goes nuts. And if he's on my right, she moves to the right. If he's on my left, she moves to the left.

So we just keep chugging along, counting down the days. We are working on getting her room put together, that means caulking and painting all the trim. We decided before we move everything out of her room we might as well caulk and paint our spare room. So that was the task last weekend and I'm happy to say the spare room is almost done. YEAH! for us. Last week we got the crib bedding, it's precious. I'm so glad that is done. Now I can move on with everything else. I was waiting until we picked the bedding to officially decide on the nursery colors.

Hope all is well with all of you! Loves to all.

Pink or Blue????

We are super excited to announce that Hadley Kay Wootan will be the first addition to our family. We had our ultrasound today and everything went perfect. The tech said she thought it was a girl because only girls have attitude while still in the womb. I almost said "ya and you can't beat it out of them yet" but decided she would probably call CPS and to keep my mouth shut. :) Then a few minute later she said "I knew it" I asked if it was a girl, when she said "yes" I just started crying. I'm beyond happy. Before we went in I was worried that we wouldn't have much of a reaction when she told us. We didn't really care what it was, we would be happy with either. So I was surprised that my reaction was that strong. Anyway everything looks great, she's healthy and seems happy and content. It's nice to call her by her name instead of It or Baby Fetus. We have tons to do but June can't come fast enough. We can't wait to meet her! Loves to all!

Cutest Baby Ever

Well here it is! Tuesday afternoon Tanner and I headed down to our appointment. I'll admit that I didn't feel anything going in. I wasn't excited or nervous, I was just hoping that I could see the little jellybean/peanut on the screen. I had mixed feelings, a big part of me was hoping their were two babies in there (that way I could possibly call it a day and never suffer through pregnancy again). But the common sense part of me was hoping for just one.

Well in we went. When she stared moving the little ultrasound thing around on my stomach I still wasn't expecting to see or feel very much. Then there it was on the flat screen tv in front of me.... Total full on baby. no peanut. no jelly bean. I could see its whole body, face, legs, arms, hands and nose (and of course I told Tanner I hoped it has his nose.) By far the most amazing thing I've ever experienced. Suddenly my negative (very negative)attitude was gone. I didn't care how sick I had been. I didn't care that I can't drink my Mt. Dew. I didn't care that I have to take terrible pills every night. Everyone says you forget how hard pregnancy is after you have your baby. Well I forgot. I could do this ten more times.

It's beautiful. The most precious thing I've ever seen. The next day Tanner picked me up from work. I pulled out my phone and showed him that I had changed my background to our ultrasound. He then pulled out his phone and showed me the exact same thing. It's amazing how quick two people can change. We've been together for 6 years, married for 3 of them. The only time we every talked about having kids was when other people asked us about it. We just didn't ever think about having them. We said when we were 30 but that was more to get people off our backs about it. :) I don't think either of us had any real intentions of having them then. But here we are 28 and beyond excited. We'll find out what we're having sometime in January. I of course can't wait to find out, but more than that I just want to see it wiggling around inside me. Watching it react to everything I do. Amazing.

Baby

After 11 very long weeks Tanner and are happy to finally be announcing that we have a baby on the way! My due date is June 15th. We had to wait until Thanksgiving to get our families all together, I have two sisters away at school and Tanner's parents are in Cali. So yesterday was the big day and it was great. My mom has known for a while, telling her was the smartest move I've made yet. She's been a huge help.

Weeks 6-10 were not the best of my life, I felt sick all day everyday. But I'm feeling great now. (praise the Lord) Yes we were trying. Well I say trying..... I had thought about it for a few months, I thought Tanner would say I was nuts because we weren't even going to consider trying until we were both 30. But when I said "hey I think I'm ready to have a baby" he said "ok". I think we both thought it would take a little while but the first try worked. It all happened kind of fast which I think is a good thing because knowing me I probably would have freaked out and changed my mind.

So here we are. Kind of in limbo. We won't know what we're having until the end of January so I can't really do anything to prepare. I guess I could start buying diapers right. We have our names picked, (ok the names have been picked for six years) we have the nursery all planned out but can't really do anything until we know. Right now I'm just enjoying talking about it. My first ultrasound is next week so that should be fun. I hope it makes it all a little more real for us. :)

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving! This year Tanner and I are really grateful for two families that support us so much. And that are so excited about our baby. And all of our friends, everyone has been really happy for us. Most of all we're thankful for a so far healthy pregnancy!

I am also very grateful for Tanner. He is truly going to be an amazing father. He's wanted to be involved in everything. We made all my Dr. appointments so he could be there. Every Wednesday we read a chapter of my "pregnancy week by week" book. When he calls me on his lunch break he always asks how I'm feeling. And if he forgets to ask he'll call right back. He gets me whatever I want for dinner, which has been everything you can imagine. When I was sick I couldn't eat the same thing twice so we've pretty much eaten everywhere. He is so much more patient than I am. He's totally going to be the better parent. :) And that's just fine with me. Although we'll see what happens when he has to get rid of his violet x-box games. Right now he thinks I'm kidding. He's not perfect, he still has "husband/male" moments and makes "husband/male" comments. But thanks to the way I so "lovingly" (ha) explain things to him, he hasn't made the same mistake twice. Really he is amazing and he's been putting up with me so that says a lot. Thanks baby.

Well that's that! We'll keep you posted! Loves to all!

(On July 25, 2008, Kamber Larsen, a 2 year old loving little girl, made it past the gates that surrounded her family's pool. When funeral arrangements were being made, the Larsen family was appalled at the options for the children's caskets. Kamber's father decided that he needed to build her casket as one last act of love for his sweet daughter. Kamber's Kaskets is a way to donate to those who have experienced the unexpected death of a child by providing loving and beautiful caskets to those who have had to endure the devastating loss of a child.)
